November Garden Update

Adam Garden

Last time I posted about the garden, we had just planted all the fall greens. Since then we’ve had some HUGE growth. The fact that you can put seeds in the ground, add some water and love (or fertilizer) and they turn into giant plants, full of nutritious food never ceases to amaze me. I really can’t get over the process of watching things I started grow.

Most of our greens are doing great, especially considering that our beds were built with summer sun in mind, and so the entire first foot of both beds don’t get much sun in the winter, due to the proximity to our fence line.

A few things are struggling without a clear reason. Not sure what is happening there. Everything gets roughly even watering from our drip system and the soil is pretty evenly taken care of as well. We’re adding a bit of liquid seaweed to see if that helps.

Overall I’m super pleased! We are about to start regularly harvesting salads out of the garden and should have all our greens taken care of until at least spring.
