I love Reddit. I’d love it if you shared any posts there that you think are worthy. If you are reading this site, there’s decent odds you love it too. Though it is possible people are stumbling upon this site without having come across the greatest forum to ever bless the internet. If you’ve never heard of Reddit, I’ll reference you to the Book of Knowledge:

Reddit is an entertainment, social networking, and news website where registered community members can submit content, such as text posts or direct links, making it essentially an online bulletin board system. Registered users can then vote submissions up or down to organize the posts and determine their position on the site’s pages. Content entries are organized by areas of interest called “subreddits.” The subreddit topics include news, gaming, movies, music, books, fitness, food, and photosharing, among others.

There are hundreds (thousands?) of subreddits and it’s amazing what exists that you may never come across, so I thought I would do the occasional post where I highlight some of my favorites.

Personal Finance

This is the grand daddy sub of frugal investors among us. While I hope you keep reading the blogosphere (especially my site) for great content, you can damn near learn every need right here. Great sub, though very beginner geared.

Buy it for Life

This sub is both useful in finding amazing brands and products, but it can also be really fascinating to see items that people are still using from time periods ranging from the 70’s to the 1800’s. There are some great posts on who to buy bags from (Targus), belts (Orion Leather) and dozens of other awesome products.

DIY

Another great forum full of inspirationals, ideas, and how-to’s with a lot of great photos. There is a wealth of information and a great community. One of my favorite subs just going through all the amazing things people are able to do when they’re not watching tv and instead bettering themselves. Go to All Time Top and check out the amazing home transformations, backyard paradises, and other cool stuff.

Financial Independence

A solid community for feeling like minded people working toward FIRE. Very inspirational. Some solid information. Lot of people to help push you toward your goals.

Frugal

The frugal sub has a lot of similar content to FI, but has a lot more specific, actionable tips on products, cooking, buying used and how to save money by being smart.

Bonus:

Gardening

Obviously I’m partial to gardening. We like to post about ours. But it’s a great way to save money, get some sun, exercise, and eat health. Oh, and it saves you money in the long run. This sub is pretty great for fun, inspirational posts and pictures. It’s pretty light on the how-to, but good for questions.

Still here? If so consider using Tradeking (Special $200 bonus offer) for your next brokerage and Personal Capital, my favorite tool to see all your accounts in place. You can also support us by using our Amazon link. We get a bit back if you do and it helps keep the lights on.

Don’t forget to check out our Resources Page where we’re working to keep links to the best of the web for personal finance, investing, travel and frugal badassity.
